"I Dig.."

I dig the fact that the friends of Drew are genuinely down
I dig the fact that I host the dopest venue around
"Spit Dat!" at Java Head, where we rock in sleet, rain, or snow
I dug last night when E-Baby flowed
I dig "Oooonly fiiiiive dollars?!"
"YEAH!"
"Subliminal Suggestion"
Sly and Nat
Mad sirens riding past our "Lying-Ass Fiberglass"
I dig Jeremiah, Rebecca, Ced, Shea and Dwayne
I dig that Regulars won't get offended if I don't say their names
I dig Lee, Lynn, Ria, Cipher, Joi and Gio
I dig Kanikki J and Candy Paint; the joint is so peaceful
I dig 13 and Q, Crystalee and Sheba, too
Rob, Ray, Desire, Melanie the Not-So-Bitter Boo
The other Drew is thorough, too; Nekevia's sweet but strong
Tiger, Tweety, and Kim ("the fake-assed Nia Long") :}
I dig Broke Ballin', being happy without mad cheddar
I dig 5th L, THE BADDEST COLLECTIVE OF CATS EVER!
Kom, Native Son, Femi aka Smookey Lookey
And my baby brother Sir who'll "probably die" cool with Droopy
We gone ROCK South Cackalacka; those cats won't know what hit 'em
But hurry up and handle your business so you can go get your ticket!
I dig my best friend Dana who I'll always adore
I dig my homegirl Eternal who I'll always support
I dig illpoets.com, those crazy cats
I dig Pryor, Cosby and Chris Rock who make me laugh
I dig Jay-Z, Nas, Neptunes and Timbaland
I dig selling or sitting on CDs, losing or winning slams
I dig Ivy, Koop, Sise, Esthero, Massive Attack
I dig Les Nubians; 9:30 Club, that's where it's at
I dig Spider-Man action figures
Dig my family; blood and extended
Dig smoking open mics or going to clubs to kick it
I dig my Crew, wild as they tend to be
I dig women, foul as they've been to me
I even dig haters who speak with guile when they mention me
I dig New Orleans, po-boys, etoufee
Saints games and Mardi Gras parades
Jambalaya, "hot girls", Bally's and fades
I dig bread pudding and the color blue
I dig writing poetry to heal this brother Drew
But most of all, my Broke Folk, for always sticking with this fool
In the words of TLC, "I'm diggin on YOU."
