The woman who inspired much of #ThisIsThePart put me on to “Guilt Junkie” by Vinia Mojica by way of mixtape when we first started dating. I couldn’t have known then that I would end up feeling like the song by the time we were finished.

And so this song is dedicated to the song it samples, to the woman who put me on to it, and to the point in a relationship when the voice that was once music to your ears now sounds like it could belong to one of Charlie Brown’s teachers (if not indeed one of Charlie Parker’s solos).

But it is also dedicated to “Love Jones”, one of my favorite films, and to the best-ever way to end an argument: storming out to get some muh’fuckin’ Toasted Oats.
