"Your Honour.."

Muses: "Holdin' It Down" by Big L featuring Stan Spit, A.G., and Miss Jones, "Crush" by Zhane, and the rampant hypocrisy and mind games of the dating world. (Let's cut the bullshit, people.)

I throw myself at the mercy of your court
With every verse and every chorus
Your hired gun; your mercenary of amour, Miss
Don't be afraid to sip from this fount
Or step in my stirrups just to dismount
If I'm "damaged goods", you get me at a discount!
You know I'm your guy, yo; in everything but in title
Don't leave me singing "Somewhere Out There" like I'm Fievel
You know we'd make a good "pear" like Del Monte
Don't waste your time with that mild-tasting replacement kind
Come taste this Pace Picante
The difference is this kid is dope,
while that kid IS a dope
Besides, that other stuff's made in "Newww Yorrrrk City!?..."
(Get a rope..)
I'm appealing to your senses
Why settle for a bucket when you could deal with a Benz, Miss?
My blue book value's endless..

Don't be scurred to fall in love with the Broke Bachelor in the throes
of rapture
I'm a good catch, so you know that I'll catch ya
I clean and I cook, doll
Got street smarts and book smarts
Good humor, good looks, good heart, and Mr. Goodbar..
Bad credit, though...
But dagnebbit, yo
Every good guy needs a good flaw!
The best sugar is sugar in the raw
I'll be a soldier for your army
Your trump card; joker of hearts, see
Don't wait until I blow up to want me!

Don't be shook by my poetry, Judge
"Why Do I Like You?" only looks like "a hate piece"
I wrote it out of love!
Yeah, I been through some stuff, but my soul is tough
I showed you my scars only so you'd know where to cocoa butter-rub
I'm only being honest with you, but obviously few
Hold honesty in as high esteem their mouths say they do
I could do like other guys do and profit by lying to you
Showing my best traits to impress dates like a job interview
But that's wack to me
And everything ain't sweet; this ain't no Willy Wonka factory
So if you can't handle the answers, then stop asking me
About my ex-girl, Tweety Bird
Whadda you care about that bad ole puddy-tat?
You tryn ta date ME or HER?
We've both got negatives; let's look at them positively
And yeah, I've got baggage, but hold it FOR me, not AGAINST me!
We're all victims of circumstance with hurt in our pasts
It's my heart and how I treat you as a person that matters...
